Professional associations play a vital role in the support and development of members and their disciplines.

The AATG in general promotes the study of German by providing professional development for teachers, as well as many tools and opportunities for the German student to improve his or her knowledge and skills. The AATG is not only for teachers; interested individuals are invited to join our organization as we work together towards our goal of promoting the study of German in Maryland, Northern Virginia, and the Washington, D.C. metro area.

Membership in the National AATG is mandatory for local chapter membership.
